Reception for The Potts |
|
There will be a reception in honor of Bob and Barbara Potts on their
retirement Saturday 26th from 2-4 pm in the church Parlor. A love offering
will be taken for them to show our appreciation for the diligent service and
their love of Christ Church for so many years. You may give your
offering either in your Sunday School Class, the Church Office or a
container will be provided at the reception.

New Ministry: Bless New Neighbors"
|
|
|
|
|
|
We are asking your help in reaching new neighbors moving
into our church area! The "Bless New Neighbors" ministry is a way to reach
newcomers and welcome them to the neighborhood and invite them to feel
welcome at Christ UMC. You need only be aware of new
neighbors in your neighborhood, call the Church Office or Polly Vineyard
(218-1092 with the address and request a cookie basket. The request
and addresses should be in by the 1st Sunday of each month for cookie
baskets to be available the 2nd Sunday. These may be picked up by you to
welcome your new neighbor, or if you are unable to deliver it, a member of
the team will deliver it, just let us know. Please be a part of this
important outreach program by being on the watch for those new neighbors and
calling in requests! |

Weekend of the Cross |
|
Weekend of the Cross is July 24-27, 2008.
We are looking for a few good men and women to volunteer for this event. We need adults to volunteer for worksites and/or stay overnight
on campus with students. For more information call Chuck Stripling
687-6328 or Sara LaFortune. W. O. C. is so amazing, spirit filled and a
fantastic opportunity to share the love of Jesus Christ. |

National Night Out |
|
We will be having a National Night Out Party this year on August 5th in the
East Parking Lot of our church ground from 6-9 p.m.
There will be free food including barbecue beef sandwiches, potato chips,
soft drinks, popcorn, and snow cones. Entertainment will include the
Stepping Stones Praise Band, The Blake Brothers Blue Grass Band and Ruth
Sanders. There will be activities for children and youth and visits
from our Fire and Police Units and the Caddo Parish Sheriff Department.
Come casual and bring a lawn chair. To help with parking, please
share a ride with a friend or guest. No bicycles, skateboards or
pets!! Thank you. |
